City Light / City Lives
A Solo Exhibition by Ted Weinstein
April 4 – May 31, 2026
Ingleside Gallery at Ballast Coffee, 329 W. Portal Ave, San Francisco
Photographs are crystallized attention, and light is the wondrous ingredient in every photograph. The joy of street photography is the heightened focus and concentration it brings to every step, and the special pleasure of street photography here in San Francisco is how the City's magical light shapes the way we see every person and place we encounter.
The images in this exhibition are selected from several of Ted's ongoing photo series: City Light, City Lives, Muni Motion, and Dudes. Each reflects a particular encounter of time and space and light and mindful attention.
While I am focusing the camera, the camera is helping focus my own attention. Rather than viewfinder and lens distancing me from the world, they encourage close attention to the shapes, details, and people of this unique city.
This is Ted's first solo exhibition at Ingleside Gallery. We're honored to share his thoughtful, meditative work with the community.
Opening Reception: Saturday, April 4, 2026
